Join Ahmedabad Book Club - Meet Ankit Trivedi

I know, this is my most unupdated blog. No Excuses as it is quite known that Social Networking is the most convenient connexion through smart phones. However, I do state that Blogging has its own charm when you wish to write and place contents on the web. Information is the key to success, I guess. And, in the rush of our routines and everyday busy schedules with adopting the gadgets, life is beautiful yet, we are missing and losing the quest for knowledge.

Anyways, you can always follow me on www.kidsfreesouls.com and this is an ongoing writing corner for me on the world wide web.

I am aware of many Gujarati Poets and Literature lovers on the web and for them, this is news that Priyanshi Patel (Sambhaav Family) is running Ahmedabad Book Club in our city. The sessions are all focused on Sharing Knowledge and a platform where like-minded Book lovers meet, interact and share knowledge. There are Poets, Authors and Experts in many field who come and share their expertise and ABC is happy to provide a platform to all who love Books - Poetry and Literature or say, anything related to Books.

ABC in association to Coffee Mates has organized an upcoming Session on Poetry by Ankit Trivedi at Gujarat Sahitya Parishad premises on 21st September 5-7 p.m. ABC gives 'Open Invitation' to all to attend the Event. Recently, Mihir Gajrawala, an active member of ABC puts this post :

'Poetry' - the word has certain connotation, a connotation of it being 'other worldly', or 'not for me' or 'jhabbha-thela walo' or 'cant understand' etc etc. (for many if not all). On the other hand, I see that most 'language' consumption (apart from routine functional communication) happens in form of verse!!
#1 : music and songs : of whatever language we all consume everyday are verses
#2 : all of us irrespective of our faith, if are praying , those prayers (most of them,if not all) are verses.
almost 90% of ancient indian documentation is in the form of verses. Shlokas, Gaatha, dohas, mantra etc. are all forms of poetry.almost 90% of ancient indian documentation is in the form of verses. Shlokas, Gaatha, dohas, mantra etc. are all forms of poetry.Knowing this, it seems that poetry is a powerful medium to communicate thoughts and given its vast presence all around, it is a preferred medium too. To me it seems somewhere our ability to comprehend a verse is dented, or may be we just feel a repulsion, inspite of we ourselves being its consumer as described above.
Given this context, it is applause worthy that many are still trying to comprehend it and also trying to create new poetry to express themselves. Even if it does not strictly fall under the popular culture space.
It will be great to discuss the above and hear one of the contemporary exponent of vernacular poetry Ankit Trivedi in the upcoming ‪#‎Coffeemates‬and Ahmedabad Book Club session this sunday. I am looking forward to it and I suggest fellow book club members to make most of this session. It would be great to have interactions within us on the said topic.sunday 21.9.14 / Sahitya parishad / 5 to 7 pm.
Well, Enjoy this poetry. A Red, Red Rose by Robert Burns has been translated to Gujarati language by Dr. Vivek Tailor - Feel the mother tongue, a language so sweet and lyrical, rhymed. Join ABC upcoming session to feel the flow of the words and understand what Gujarati Poetry is by Ankit Trivedi.
પ્રિય ! મારો પ્રેમ છે લાલ, લાલ ગુલાબ સમો,
જે જુનમાં ખીલે છે નવોનવો;
પ્રિય ! મારો પ્રેમ જાણે છે સંગીતની ધૂન,
જેને મીઠાશથી વહે છે સૂર.
જેટલી ગૌર તું છે, મારી નમણી રમણી,
એટલો ગળાડૂબ છું હું પ્રેમમાં;
અને સૂર્ય પીગાળી દે સહુ ખડકોને;
અને હું છતાં પણ તને ચાહતો રહીશ, પ્રિયે,
જ્યાં સુધી જીવનની રેતી સરતી રહેશે…
અને હું રજા લઉં છું, મારી એકમાત્ર પ્રિયા !
અને હું રજા લઉં છું થોડી વાર માટે;
અને હું ફરીને આવીશ, મારી પ્રિયા,
ભલે વચ્ચે હજારો માઇલ કેમ ન પથરાયા હોય.

A Red, Red Rose by Robert Burns
O my Luve is like a red, red rose
That’s newly sprung in June;
O my Luve is like the melody
That’s sweetly played in tune.
So fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a’ the seas gang dry.
Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun;
I will love thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.
And fare thee weel, my only luve!
And fare thee weel awhile!
And I will come again, my luve,
Though it were ten thousand mile.

Be there at Sahitya Parishad on 21st September 2014 - 5-7 and enjoy listening and learning from Ankit Trivedi. Join Ahmedabad Book Club sessions and also follow on Facebook, its Free :-)

Teachers' Day and CM's message

As a known fact, this blog is slow with posts and almost the Social Networking sites have taken over - Facebook, Twitter and G+ alongwith the newly made web portal www.kidsfreesouls.com

5th September and it's Teachers' Day - CM honoured the best teachers on the occassion and shared his thoughts on teaching. He mentioned that we are now in the era of learning and we must think of ways through which we can make our children learn more. Learning is more important than the strength of teaching. He felt that there is no age limit to learning and said, it is important that if every teacher aspire to learn, students are sure to excel.

I agree. In the age of technology, the time is here that teachers get on board to go tech savvy. What is more important is 'Reading' - Tell me, do teachers read? Oh really they do? Where is the time, ask me and I have found this answer from many. A well read teacher can teach and a well informed teacher can help children learn as well as sharpen his/her own teaching skills.

Our Education system needs to be revamped - Isn't it Mr. CM ? Follow the speech and CM interaction with children on www.narendramodi.in

Google Search - Bad tactics !

Getting back normally to blogging is a tougher choice back here but nevertheless, the full stop needs to restart.

Randomly surfing, it always is a Google Search issue and they either put you in top or just pick up and decide to mention 'Your site is harmful' harnessing the reputation of the websites. But, I wonder how come their very own Blogger blogs get this warning !!! Image problems and the inject of malware - But, in blogger Blogs? Another thing I noticed is that the Google Search's 'Safe browsing Diagnostic page mentions confusion in their own report - Says, 'Suspicious 3 times in past 90 days' and below it mentions,

Has this site hosted malware?
No, this site has not hosted malicious software over the past 90 days.
If you click to http://sambhaav.blogspot.com - the Safe browsing Diagnostic Page leads you to www.kidsfreesouls.com ! Are they promoting stopbadware.org? One wonders.....Is this kind of Advisory provided by Google?

Ultimate is that - finally, one has to sort for Web Developers only - Such Google notices only irk the concentration on writing and especially when journalists write, design, manage, maintain, market and promote their own sites. Google Search only harness the reputation of website owners ! And even, harness the reputation of their very own Blogger !

Anyways, watch out for new www.kidsfreesouls.com to launch soon. So will Sambaav Metro have a new look soon enough.

CM Narendra Modi wins Hattrick - set records for third term in Gujarat to serve Maru Gujarat, Apnu Gujarat.

Yes, CM Narendra Modi wins Hattrick - set records for third term in Gujarat to serve Maru Gujarat, Apnu Gujarat. For  +Narendra Modi - the visionary who is the most determined, dedicated and devoted, the win had to be exceptional and it did with over 86,000 + votes.

The reason is the march ahead with the mantra of Vikas - Development journey that changes the face of Gujarat. The love and trust which won the hearts of citizens and he's been a darling of the Urban, Middle class and even the muslims who see their growth in Gujarat. It is 'Unstoppable Development, Unstoppable Gujarat' with the unwavering belief of the six crore Gujaratis who stand by the Leader.

As I witness the historic moments, the debate now focus on 'Dilse Modi, Phirse Modi' for the next 2014 PM Candidate as he posted a tweet saying "No need of looking behind...FORWARD...We want infinite energy, infinite courage, infinite patience.." with the Vivekanandji Quote and taking blessing from his mom and heading to meet the Keshubapa !

Well, well, there goes quote of CM, "Secularism is a term interpreted in many different ways by different people. For me, it has always been something very simple - putting India First." And, the truth is in the fact that +Narendra Modi believe in People Power which combines with good governance to bring real, deep and lasting change. This itself of togetherness - unity will reach Gujarat to higher grounds and I am indeed sure, CM will further script history as he set records to be the Leader of the Nation.

Visit CM's website and watch for more to come. Also keep an eye on Government State Portal.

Poster War and CM !

Poster War and our CM Narendra Modi pose a threat of being defamed. Parts of Rajkot town show him in the company of Bollywood's wicked matriarchs and vamps! He is featured 'Dangerous than Shashikala and Lalita Pawar! Earlier anti-Modi and pro-Sanjay Joshi posters had appeared in several places in Gujarat and Delhi which were critical of Modi's way of working.

Someone did comment that CM is lately fond of meeting Bollywood Heroes and no wonder, Heroines would queue up to meet him at Gandhinagar. No harm, I guess. I think, with the success of 'Kevi Rite Jaish' the latest Gujarati movie, more of the Bollywood actors are in good terms with CM - to mention a few like Amitabh Bacchan, Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Raval, Akshay Khanna, etc.  Vivek Oberoi's upcoming Sher (tentatively titled) will be shot in Porbandar. Buzz is that the climax of Arbaaz Khan's Dabangg 2 will be shot in Pawagadh, near Vadodara. A team from Akshay Kumar and Himesh Reshammiya's joint production has also visited Ahmedabad.

Well, Gujarat is becoming a hot destination and I am sure, whoever wants the CM to be compared to the vamps are those who are jealous and want him to defame him and Gujarat. I think, they don't love Gujarat and the development but are anti government.

Got a guest here, so may be more blogging continues here as I find more space - So, stay tuned.

Getting into the Spirit of Peace, Harmony and Progress….Happy Diwali & Prosperous New Year

Getting into the Spirit of Peace, Harmony and Progress….Happy Diwali & Prosperous New Year

The spirit of celebration is the same every year. But this year, what has changed is the way now Gujaratis are celebrating the festival of lights with Sadbhavana. A way of simplicity - to live together in peace and harmony. Diwali has now become a joyous, multicultural observance in Gujarat, in which people of all religion - faith join in.

In that spirit, I invite you to light a ‘Sadbhavana’ Diya for this Diwali and spread our message of peace, harmony and progress with faith in your heart and love for Gujarat.

As we celebrate the triumph of ‘Good over Evil’, it all started as a way to celebrate Lord Rama’s return on vanquishing Ravana. And centuries later, it still gives us a reason to light up the darkness – Spreading sunshine into the lives of 6 crore Gujaratis and scattering the rays of hope to people of the nation. Gujarat, a hope for a better India, is a role model to other states, reaching crescendo with its development journey.

Gujarat leads to a bright future with every citizen joyfully celebrating the festival with spiritual fervor. These spiritual qualities over-ride the basic instincts, intellect and ego. The light of the soul can transform baser qualities of greed, distrust and hatred into selfless giving, trust and helpfulness. It inspires us to be consistent in our efforts to progress on the path of truth to enlighten and illuminate the lives of people of Gujarat. And, it has revealed to us our true ‘Identity’ as enriched souls, living and growing in the great school of earthly experience. It’s the time to shrug off hate, anger and bitterness. It’s the time to illuminate the diyas to flicker the flame of Progress.

It is a timeless civilization with an eternal quest for the light of Knowledge which is embodied in our spiritual texts. As Rig Veda quotes:

Asato Maa,
sad gamaya
Tamaso Maa,
Jyotir Gamaya
Mrityor Maa,
Amritam Gamaya
Aum Shanti Shanti Shanti…

We pray, God lead me by giving me knowledge (from the unreal to the real),

From darkness (of ignorance) to the light (of Knowledge), from death (limitation) to the immortality (liberation).

Ten years ago, we lived in darkness. Gujarat lived in a world terrorized by violence and deceit, corruption and cunning fundamentalism and atrocity. The years 1986-85 are unforgettable and resound in painful grief. The government endeavored to exorcise the ghosts of the past and forge in a new world of understanding, hope, love, brotherhood, harmony and peace. As far as we experience, there has been no kind of violence or curfew, no communal unrest as we live in peace in Guajrat.

The Literacy ratio gets higher in Gujarat. The Literacy rate in Gujarat has seen upward trend and is currently 79.31% as per the 2011 Population census. Of that, Male literacy stands at 87.23% while Female literacy is at 70.73%. And, credits go to the efforts of CM alongwith all his officers striving to spread literacy.

Our traditional oil lamp which still serves as the primary source of illumination in many parts of Gujarat, also informs of something about India’s huge and growing power deficit. While India had ‘power poverty’, it’s leaders opened the doors to commerce in nuclear energy! Gujarat is focused for ‘Green Energy, Clean Energy’ with the First in Asia trendsetter ‘Department for Climate Change.’ And, adopts the strategy to become global hub for renewable energy, which could be synonymous with climate justice for the generation next.

Urban development had remained a neglected sector in India and lacked a direction and political will. But, in Gujarat, initiatives like Jyotigram Yojna for 24x7 hours uninterrupted power supply in all the 18,000-odd villages and broadband connectivity to village panchayats in the State have succeeded in reducing the rural-urban gap and check rural exodus towns by 33 per cent. The light is illuminated in the life of people of ‘Rurban’ Gujarat with new plans and strategy. Jyoti Gram Yojna has changed the socio-economic conditions of Gujarat, creating a mass awareness too.

The flickering flame of Sadbhavana speaks of the initiatives for farmers who are known to be are known to be progressive and pragmatic in Gujarat. The unique Initiative of the Krishi Mela Mohatsav have brought tremendous change - Jal Kranti, leading to Gujarat providing Shwet Kranti (White revolution) to the nation and now, Harit Kranti (Green Revolution). Team of experts, researchers, scientists, Agriculture officers and Ministers interact and provide information and counselling on soil health, organic farming, technology and inputs, irrigation, etc., besides infusing a new spirit of change and mass mobilisation. More than 93,000 farmers in Gujarat have adopted drip irrigation for their total 1.51 lakh hectare land..The figures keep rising as Drip Irrigation system and inter-linking of 21 rivers of the state for conservation of water has made it possible for record crops and Sugarcane cultivation in the state. Gujarat has created history in water conservation, by launching a drive for blue revolution, constructing number of check-dams, boribunds, village ponds, khet talavadis and implementing water harvesting apart from Water shed development programs for increase in healthy living lifestyles with better income, education and resources.

World's Largest Irrigation Network, the pace of implementation of the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Project with the dam height raised to 121.9 metres (from 90 metres five years ago) makes the waters of the Narmada flow all across the state through canals and water transmission lines. The project has immense contribution towards irrigation, hydropower and drinking water supply. It’s Bringing Smiles to Faces with Water Harvesting – Conserving Water for Tomorrow. In order to economize the use of Water, Gujarat has speeded up the promotion, awareness and application of micro-irrigation techniques such as Drip and Sprinkler Irrigation. Also, Innovative water solutions like desalination, recycling treatment, water purification, water saving, water security and water management play a key role in Water Harvesting in Gujarat.

The diya of Gyan (Knowledge) with Vision Gujarat aims aims for transformation of State into a globally recognized knowledge society and for this, proposed shelf of projects lay outlined for creation of specific Institutions in growth sectors such as Aviation University, Retail Management University, Maritime University etc and creating COE (Center of Excellence) across the state for Governance, Biotechnology, Textiles Research, Chemical Research, Nanotechnology, Agriculture, Earthquake Engineering Research, Architect and Design, Urban development, water, cleaner technology, space research and Tourism. ‘Smart goals with future vision’ and ‘Education for all’ is the mantra.

Bringing joy with literacy and education, The Campaign for ‘Education for All’ is implemented with major Literacy initiatives like ‘Kanya Kelavani, Shala Praveshotsav, Gunotsav and Vanche Gujarat.

The Sadbhavana soul stirs to flicker the flame to spread rays of hope amidst all imperfections that negative minds showcase. Gujarat is a shining beacon of democracy and development in a troubled country and is a force for good in an unstable world. Gujarat is committed to Enhancing Security - Physical, Social, Economic to it’s 6 crore people and further is concerned for the future of India’s Generation x. Gujarat is ready to safeguard the lamp from ill winds that blow and no force can harness the determination to surge ahead with people of Gujarat to spread Peace, harmony and Progress.

Thus, focused on the diyas of Gyan Shakti, Jal Shakti, Urja Shakti, Jan Shakti and Raksha Shakti – Gujarat has forged its own steady path along the roads of success this past decade. This ‘Panchshakti’ programs identify the key driving forces of the state’s economy and progress.

Just remember, Light is a symbolic of the purity of agni or fire that is essential in our progress towards attaining to enlightment and the need of the hour is, by opening our mind, we let in fresh wisdom, thereby expanding our horizons and broadening our vision.

To conclude, I think if all of us - the 6 crore people of Gujarat is hopeful of an emerging power to a glittering future Gujarat from a glorius past. 60 million dreams inspired the Government to cross various development milestones and every member of the administration irrespective of their ranking have unitedly accomplished the incredible success of the State. And now, we await to see our dreams come true in the future – what really the people need is – Peace and political stability. What really the people need is Development. What really the people need is comfort living, sustained life and no poverty issues. Much more…and all will join me ‘Yes, we want no corruption, no price rise and no violence’

Light the lamp of Love and let love radiate fragrance of peace and harmony.

Jai Jai Garvi Gujarat

Happy Navratri 2011 - time flies...

Time flies, leaving no room for personal spaces. In comes a lot of responsibilities that divert our attention to social and business life - And, maybe this can be an excuse for not stepping on this Blogging floor.

So many events passed by but the most exciting was 'Sadbhavana' Mission and I am sure, you must have traced the Sadbhavana footprints on CM Narendra Modi's Website. It says all! And, so do State Portal focus on the latest news that go with the State happennings.

Well, like every year, the Navratri festival is in full swing in town. What is so interesting is the GMDC - University Ground that is visited by thousands of people to catch a glimpse of the 'Sant Nagari' and 'Tourism pavilion' with the rich mucis and traditional garba dance at the venue. If you love Navratri, this is a Must Visit place and if you not seen this, you are not a Gujarati!

This reminds me, are you a Patel? Well, frankly speaking, I am. The Kadva Patidar Parivar Trust and Kadva Patidar Parivar Mahila Vikas is celebrating it's 25th Silver Jubilee Garba Mahotsav - 'Aso ni Ajwari Raat' (આસોની અજવાળી રાત) on 9th October, 2011 at D K Patel Hall in Ahmedabad. Special Aarti is organized at the venue for which any Patel can take the opportunity to perform aarti but yes, it comes with a donation prize!

Youth and Government - My speech-Presentation at CIIE-IIMA

On May 14, 2011, I got the opportunity to address Youth at CIIE-IIMA.

The topic of my Speech and Presentation were on 'Youth and Government - Paving a new path for India.' Follow the Presentation for a brief glance on feeling the 'Pulse' of the Youth and indepth findings. As an alert and an aware citizen, it is our prime responsibility to possibly work in areas where we can encourage Youth initiatives, innovation and entrepreneurship. As a result, some of my researched work highlights Government Policies and Sectors which held potential for plunge into business and keep a close watch on happennings in business world.

A call to the Youth focus on points to 'Get charged, Bring change' at a time when Anna Hazare fights for Corruption and the need of the hour arises for a Young Anna Hazare as the future of India is Youth.

While I explore and research my various fields of interest, you may log to Gujarat Government Portal to find more on Gujarat and find supportive links that speaks of its growth and also log to Hon'ble CM Narendra Modi's website which remains updated ever.

Best is yet to come! Recipe from my kitchen

Missed on the Swarnim celebrations this year! Well, its a busy enjoying life amidst the thick and thin and so, thought of just sharing a Recipe, a 2005 post:

Here's a Recipe...Straight from the "Chef" Blossomsmile's (ilaxi's) Kitchen!

- Make the Best of Everything!

Preparation-Preliminary - A fluffy white cloud can adorn a clear sky
with splendour or can clutter up your vision of the blue expanse. Again, a
grey cloud can cause you to get wet and irritate you, or it can make
earth refreshingly cool. Your choice defines what is best.

Ingredients:

- Make light of failure
- Avoid pessimists and fault finders
- Count your blessings
- Enjoy Life
- A vision of heaven

Method: Make failure an incentive to strive to do better.

Offer a deaf ear and blind eye to those who will not acknowledge the
cloud with a silver lining.

Remember a person without shoes is better off than one without feet.

Take time and pleasure in all you do even if it is eating a bread without
butter for breakfast.

Derive hope from saying, The Best is yet to come!

And yes, Best of friends too, yet to find, 'tis they come from heaven to spread peace and joy on earth. Tis a cup of love blend with faith, trust and all that is rosy and gold. Garnish your life with all the rich flavours of love to relish the taste for a life time!!!
